Nestled within the breathtaking landscape of Tatitlek, Copper Mountain stands as a timeless landmark, with its rugged beauty a source of inspiration for generations. This striking peak has been photographed countless times, capturing the essence of the region’s natural splendor. The late Chief Gary Kompkoff, who served as the Tatitlek IRA Council President for many years, fondly referred to the Village as “God’s Country”.
Recognizing the deep cultural and historical significance of Copper Mountain, TTC established Copper Mountain Foundation (CMF), a 501c(3), in 1990 to preserve and perpetuate Tatitlek heritage while providing educational training and opportunities for our shareholders. Through scholarships, cultural programs, and community initiatives, CMF remains committed to strengthening our people’s connection to their history, land, and traditions, while pursuing their careers.
CMF’s Mission
Copper Mountain Foundation perpetuates cultural preservation and our identity through education and career advancement for the well-being of the Native Village of Tatitlek and our people.
Our Vision
Generations of Alutiiq people rooted in our Tatitlek Heritage, acknowledging our resilience as strong Alaska Native people, empowered to advance through education and training.
We are also excited to welcome Crystal Boskofsky and Lydia Robart to our team, who will play a key role in executing CMF’s education and cultural programs. Their dedication will help further our mission of preserving and strengthening our community’s traditions for years to come.
