1. How would you sum up your work?
I’m fortunate to work with Tatitlek shareholders and youth, helping, encouraging and guiding them to be active in preserving our culture and heritage, while also preparing themselves for education goals and career opportunities beyond high school. Loving what you do and who you work with is the icing on the cake!
2. What motivates you to continue to work for TTC?
I enjoy working with my team and all of the TTC family, as well as our shareholders and descendants. It’s rewarding to be part of a
team which provides and creates such amazing opportunities for our current and future generations.
3. What about your board, executive team and company impresses you the most?
I am impressed with the interaction between the executive team and staff. It’s a professional and comfortable work environment with mutual respect. Also the Board sets a good example in setting corporate goals and supporting the executive staff to lead the teams they oversee.
4. What is your greatest professional/personal goal that you have achieved since working for TTC?
That would be the opportunity to give back and work in a field in which I can help my people. Being able to have that professional
opportunity within my own Native Corporation is something I am very thankful for. I am excited to expand on what the Shareholder Team can do for our shareholders and descendants.
5. Closing comments to share with our shareholder base:
I’m so happy to be back at The Tatitlek Corporation, and I look forward to catching up and visiting with everyone, learning what you feel we are doing well, and inviting any thoughts and/or ideas on where we can improve.
6. What is your favorite place in Alaska?
My favorite place in Alaska is on a beach near the ocean!
7. What is your favorite traditional food?
I love salmon (kippered, smoked, dried, pickled, perok), seal, spawns (herring eggs), and kulich (Easter bread)
8. What are your hobbies outside work?
I love to travel and enjoy cooking and baking for my family and friends. I also like reading and watching basketball.
