On May 12, 2024, The Tatitlek Corporation, Chenega Corporation and Chugach Alaska Corporation proudly announced the opening of joint development facility, Chugach Naswik, (Naswik) at a ribbon cutting ceremony in Valdez, AK. This multi-use, commercial facility provides workforce housing for shareholder employees of TCC, a joint venture, an entity formed by Tatitlek, Chenega and Chugach to provide oil spill response in contract with the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. The facility also provides short-term rentals, and shared space for trainings and events.

Totemoff added, “Not only will this development provide a needed housing resource for shareholder and descendants, it underscores Tatitlek’s commitment to regional prosperity and economic development.”
Sheri Buretta, Chair of the Board of Chugach Alaska Corporation, shared her thoughts on the occasion: “The opening of Chugach Naswik is all about coming together to create something truly special for our shareholders. This facility is a big step toward making sure we offer programs and services that really make a difference in their lives. It’s about giving our people the opportunities and support they need to thrive, and ensuring that our community continues to grow stronger and more connected.”
In Sugt’stun, the language of the Alutiiq people, “Naswik” means “look out”.
