We are excited to welcome Talya Robart as our new Kelly House Coordinator! In this role, Talya will help support Kelly House activities and continue making it a welcoming gathering place for the Tatitlek community. Welcome to the team, Talya!
We asked Talya a few questions about her new role and what Kelly House means to her.
What interests you about working for Kelly House?
I’m interested in working for Kelly House because I want to give back to the community I grew up in. I also really enjoy spending time with family and friends in Tatitlek, so being able to work somewhere that brings people together means a lot to me.
What are you most excited about in your new role?
I’m most excited about being more involved in the community and getting experience working with people of all ages. I plan to attend University of Alaska Anchorage for elementary education, so I think this will be a great opportunity for me to learn and grow while I spend some time at home with my family.
What role has Kelly House played in your upbringing in Tatitlek Village?
Growing up in Tatitlek, Kelly House has always been a place where people come together. I have memories of being there for community events, activities, and spending time with people from the Village. It has always felt like a place for everyone.
How does Kelly House make a positive impact in the community?
Kelly House gives people in Tatitlek a place to gather, spend time together, and participate in different programs and activities. I think it’s special that I now get to give back by working for the Corporation that has invested in programs and opportunities for our community over the years. It’s an honor to be a part of that.
