The Tatitlek IRA Council’s first annual Fish Week was an event that brought our Village together. Traditional Arts Instructor, Diane Selanoff, led participants in the practice of gutting and filleting, while also teaching techniques for stripping, smoking, canning, and preparing salted fish for future cultural events.
The Corporation was honored to work alongside the IRA Council, and we extend our thanks to the IRA Council for making this event possible and to Mike Webber at Webber Seafoods for delivering Copper River Reds that helped make this gathering possible. Fish Week was not only about processing fish, but also about laughter, learning, and celebrating our heritage together.
