Welcome Michael Lane Kompkoff
The Tatitlek Corporation welcomes Michael Lane Kompkoff to the Board of Directors following the retirement of Ken Vlasoff.
Michael is the son of the late Michael “Jug” Kompkoff and he spent his summers fishing with his father in Prince William Sound. Those years taught him the importance of hard work, dependability, and service to community. He went on to operate his own vessel, the F/V Insider, and also served with the TCC Oil Spill Response Team, protecting our waters and environment. He also supported his wife’s clinic by assisting with marketing, staffing, and market research, which gave him additional business management experience that he brings to the Board.
Michael draws inspiration from his late grandfather Carroll Kompkoff, former President of The Tatitlek Corporation, who led with integrity and a vision for protecting the community’s future, and from his uncle, the late Gary Kompkoff, Chief of Tatitlek, who instilled pride in being Alutiiq and emphasized the importance of protecting culture, community, and subsistence rights.
Michael, his wife Meghan, and their son Jackson live in Anchorage. He looks forward to carrying forward family values, supporting shareholder opportunities and businesses, and honoring the traditions of Tatitlek.
