Honoring a Legacy
For more than 40 years, Phil Blumstein has served as legal counsel to The Tatitlek Corporation’s Board of Directors. His insight, professionalism, and dedication have guided the Corporation through decades of growth and change. Beyond his work in the boardroom, Phil has been a trusted advisor, mentor, and advocate for The Tatitlek Corporation and the Alaska Native Community. His commitment to integrity and strong governance has left a lasting mark on our organization and the people we serve.
To honor his extraordinary contributions, The Tatitlek Corporation and the Copper Mountain Foundation have established the Phil Blumstein Scholarship, a new educational award designed to support original shareholders and descendants pursuing graduate or doctoral degrees in law, business management, project management, or related fields. This program recognizes Phil’s lifelong dedication to advancing the capacity and leadership of Alaska Native Corporations and the communities they represent.
The scholarship will provide up to $10,000 per year, for a maximum of $50,000, to help students achieve advanced degrees that prepare them to serve in leadership, legal, and management roles. In addition to financial support, recipients will be connected with mentors from The Tatitlek Corporation’s professional network, reinforcing Phil’s belief in the value of guidance, education, and giving back.
Applications for the Phil Blumstein Scholarship will open in May 2026 for the Fall 2026 to Winter 2027 school year. More details on eligibility, application requirements, and timelines will be shared in the coming months. We invite shareholders and descendants to learn more about this meaningful opportunity and to join us in celebrating Phil Blumstein’s lasting legacy of service and leadership.
